Leah Bolger Speaks Truth to Power

Corvallis’ own, Leah Bolger, President of Veterans For Peace, was arrested for interrupting the Congressional Budget “Super” Committee as it listened to testimony from the Comptroller on how to fix the budget deficit.

What is glaringly obvious to the 99% is not so obvious to those in government who are on the dole from mega-corporations and the 1%, who like the system just the way it is, thank you very much.

Regular citizens, and even Congressmen and Senators, were denied access and input to this hearing, but LOBBYISTS had full access.  The pay-to-play system at its finest.

For this brave act, Leah will face a trial on April 12, 2012, where she will plead guilty to “disrupting Congress” and for speaking truth to power.  We could not be more proud.  Leah will conduct a press briefing before the hearing.  Press inquiries may be addressed to leah@veteransforpeace.org.

Ben Cohen, of Ben & Jerry’s fame, proud peace & justice activist and occupier, narrates this short video.  It was brilliantly edited and produced by Bill Kinzie.
