Exhibit in Corvallis Public Library Main Meeting Room through October
Three quilts from the Drones Quilt Project–the fourth is walking for peace through Maine–are on display at the Corvallis Public Library and may be viewed at any time. Please see the Project website for more information on how to participate in the Project.
On October 10, 2013, members of Veterans For Peace, Chapter 156, Rogue Valley, Oregon visited Corvallis and toured the exhibit. They were in town at the invitation of one of VFP Corvallis’ members, Linda Richards, to help honor the legacy of Ava Helen and Linus Pauling on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Pauling’s Nobel Peace.
Members of VFP chapters from Corvallis, Eugene/Springfield and Rogue Valley later toured the OSU Archives containing the papers of the Paulings and attended several events honoring Dr. Pauling. They were even permitted to hold both the Nobel Prizes awarded Dr. Pauling, the only person ever awarded two individual Nobel Prizes.
