GDAMS ! … It’s tax day

For this year’s Global Day of Action on Military Spending (GDAMS)

The Linus Pauling Chapter of VFP will join other peace and justice folks in a public information appearance at the Corvallis-Benton County Library on Tax Day, April 15, from 4pm – 7pm. Please join us for some or all of the event.

We will be tabling on the sidewalk in front of the library with information, including the 2014 edition of the War Resisters League “Where Your Income Tax Money Really Goes” flier with pie chart.

We will also have our dry-erase board on hand and will ask folks to write down what they would rather have their tax dollars spent on. See the photo gallery from the GDAMS event in 2011.2015 pie chart.indd

The Corvallis-area elementary and middle schools let out between three and four, so that guarantees some parents passing by with little ones.
Also, the Corvallis League of Women Voters is showing “The Healthcare Movie” at 7pm. So there is a good chance to connect on the message of lost “opportunity costs” from money that goes to the Pentagon.

Uncle Sam will be joining us, so that should draw some attention as well.

For more information about GDAMS, please see:  http://demilitarize.org/gdams-2014/gdams-us

Please join us and bring a sign if you like.
