Corvallis joins national day of action for Gaza

VFP and Corvallis/Albany Friends of Middle East Peace lead local demo.

Please join us on Thursday, July 24 to demonstrate our solidarity with the innocent victims in Gaza.

We will be part of a national day of action, including calls to Congress and the White House. Veterans For Peace has delivered a letter demanding a halt to the murders to the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC. Read it here.

In Corvallis…
– Meet at Benton County Courthouse 4:45pm
– March to 3rd & Van Buren for demonstration during rush hour
– At 5:30pm, continue march through downtown Corvallis returning to Courthouse
– Bring signs & Palestinian flags & a friend
– Wear black tshirts or black clothing and kaffiyehs

Last week, we held a similar demonstration and connected with hundreds of rush-hour drivers. It is very important to educate the public on this issue since the mainstream media is not fully reporting Israel’s atrocities.

Please join us this Thursday, July 24, in this urgent call to stop the Israeli offensive in Gaza and end the 7-year siege that has made life there so unbearable. In this latest round of violence, over 600 Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured. According to the UN, 72 percent of those are civilians, including over 125 children. One hundred thousand are displaced and living in makeshift shelters; electricity has been reduced to four hours a day for 80% of the population; water has been cut off to hundreds of thousands; sewage is flowing into the sea; hospitals have been bombed and there are shortages of everything from food to medicines. We must act now!

The irony of the Goliath-Israel dropping massive guided bombs and gas on Gaza in response to the puny rockets being fired by David-Hamas is inescapable.

The wanton killing of over 600 innocent Gazans, including many women, children, elderly and disabled belies Israeli claims of self-defense and concern for victims.

We cannot allow this to continue. Israel must be held accountable. The US needs to cut off Israel’s military aid NOW.
